Green Mobile uses O2 and Vodafone networks

2I already have a mobile contract, can I still join?
Yes, as long as you have seen through the duration of your current provider's contract. Pay As You Go phones can be taken over straight away, but will need "unlocking" from your current network.

3Can I keep my old number?
Yes. Simply phone your current network provider and ask for “PAC number” (Porting Authorisation Code)

4Can Green Mobile provide me with a new handset?
Green Mobile do not supply new handsets, just cheap airtime packages. We do have some ex-rental handsets at £25 (please call us) otherwise you will need to buy a “SIM free” handset.

7What is Green Mobile?
Green Mobile in partnership with the Friends of the Earth, the World Land Trust and the Environmental Investigation Agency has created the UK’s first environmentally friendly mobile phone service. By joining Green Mobile you agree to hold on to your existing handset for at least one more year and in return we’ll donate 5% of your bill to the charity of your choice.

8How do I switch to Green Mobile and keep my number?
If your contract with your current supplier is over, then you’ll need to call and ask for your PAC number. This ensures that you can keep your old number. Just call us back with the number and we can switch you over.

10I’ve got a Pay as you Go phone
No problem, we can take this over straight away. However if your phone is T-mobile or Orange will need "unlocking" from your current network. You can take your phone to your nearest mobile shop to unlock – they’ll probably charge £10. Or we can unlock it for you for £5 – call customer services on 0845 233 3333.

11How do I help the environment?
Firstly by keeping your phone, you are not contributing to the 100 million handsets thrown away in Europe each year (of which 85% of mobile phones are not recycled – they go into landfills). Secondly we’ll donate to your green charity further helping to protect the environment.

12How do I save money?
Green Mobile offers its customers some truly amazing rates. We use the money we would otherwise get to provide a new handset, instead we offer heavily discounted line rentals. Our call rates are 10p for UK landlines and 22p for cross-network calls. This is cheaper than the other networks. You also only pay 5p per minute calls and 5p texts when calling other Green Mobile users.

13How am I supporting Charities?
When you join Green Mobile each month we’ll give 5% of your phone bill to the charity partner of your choice.

14How much money will I donate?
Our charity partners are Friends of the Earth, the World Land Trust and the Environmental Investigation Agency. When you Green Mobile you are asked which green charity partner you wish to support and we will then donate 5% of your phone bill, at no cost to you. It's that simple.
